Embark on Kruger Park Safaris to Experience the Wilderness of Nature

By Stan Scotto Subscribe to RSS | April 14th 2012 | Views:

Kruger park safaris are world renowned for offering the most diverse of game viewing experiences. With a vast sprawl of 20,000 square kilometres consisting of 14 various eco-zones and the widest range of accommodation facilities around, Kruger safari packages are considered simply ideal to explore South African wildlife.

In addition to the tours of unrivalled biodiversity of Africa, the park offers plenty of archaeological and historical sightseeing. The Sudwala caves in Nelspruit are reckoned to be world's oldest of caves. Masorini and Thulamela are distinguished archaeological sites. Bushman rock paintings are of immense historical importance and invite natural interest of tourists from around the world. The park has also been leading the world in implementation of the advanced policies and techniques in environmental management. No surprises, Kruger has been a popular hotspot for game viewing with most international wildlife photographers, environmentalists and wildlife enthusiasts for a long time. As a result, there is no dearth of service providers in Kruger who cater to travellers with accommodation, transport and a wholesome range of safaris in South Africa.

The park is named after Paul Kruger, who signed the proclamation of Sabie Game reserve to curb wildlife slaughter in 1898. The park now inhabits more than 500 bird species and impressive number of flora and fauna, including the big five. There are nine known trails inside the park that range between overnight trips and several days of camping in the wild. The areas inside the forest are almost untouched by humans and as such there are no trails but those made by the animals themselves. Only the most experienced and expert of travel agencies will take you inside the dense Kruger National Park to carve out your own new route through the bushes. From that point of view, staying at Nelspruit, capital of Mpumalanga, is recommended for the ideal position and affordable access to the park.

It is suggested to decide your destination inside the park and go for one of the flexi tours offered by one of the local travellers at Nelspruit. The city is ideally located at just 60 kilometres from Kruger National Park and would give you easy access to neighbouring nature reserves in Swaziland and Mozambique as well.
