Best Shopping areas in Liverpool

By Jesse Wallace Subscribe to RSS | May 22nd 2012 | Views:

Liverpool is a city famous for football, music, and history. However, like most post-industrial cities, recent investment has seen a gentrification of the city centre. Liverpool has seen much investment, and the area around the famous docks in particular has changed greatly. Shopping is one area that Liverpool has seen much investment in, and with both public and private sectors working together, there are many new developments to attract visitors. So if you are looking for a city break where you can do some shopping, then Liverpool is the perfect place. Liverpool shopping is world class, which is only fitting for a city that can shop till it drops.

Liverpool One is one of the biggest open shopping areas in the world, and the biggest in the UK. Liverpool One is a city-centre commercial area that contains not only shopping and other retail venues, but also hotels for those too lazy to make the trip from somewhere else. If you are planning on shopping in Liverpool, then Liverpool One is the place to be, and no visit is complete without it. With both Everton and Liverpool Football Clubs opening stores in Liverpool One, it is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs for your loved ones after a hard day’s shopping. Liverpool One is home to some of the most upmarket shops in the city, so if you are planning on engaging in some high-end retail therapy, then it is one of the best places in the city.

If you are looking for something a little more bohemian, then the world famous Cavern Walks is the place for you. Not far from the place where the Beatles got their first gig, Cavern Walks is a hive of activity and a vibrant place to find a bargain. Lark Lane, not far from the Cavern Walks is a little less upmarket, although is the place for vintage and other retro clothing. Although you may have to work a little harder at Lark Lane to find something, when you do, it feels like a real treat.

If you are planning a trip to Liverpool, then be sure to take an extra suitcase with you to carry all your shopping home. If you are on a budget then book a cheap hotel in Liverpool and have more money to spend on yourself. With all of the dining out, shopping and general fun, saving money on your accommodation means your spending sprees don’t need to break the bank.
