The designing of hydraulic systems
When we talk about hydraulic systems the very first thing that comes to the mind is about the hydraulic system design which works behind the functioning of the technology. The primary components which are used in hydraulic systems are the use of pump along with linear and rotary actuators. We are going to make a short review about each component associated with the hydraulic system technology.
Pumps: Three different pumps are available in the market any one of them can be used in the system depending on individual advantages as well as disadvantages. The three different pumps available are gear pumps, vane pumps and axial piston pumps. The pumps convert the energy from the electric motor to generate fluid power energy. The rating of the pumps is totally based on flow and pressure generated. The use of gear pumps are made mostly in the system of hydraulic as it follows a less complicated mechanism and that too at a cheaper price in comparison to the other two. Piston pumps replaced the use of vane pumps.
Motors: Motors are also a pump which works in reverse mood in comparison to normal pumps. It is fixed in its application. The commonly used motor types in the market are LSHT and HSLT. The common materials which are used in motor are cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel and cast steel.
Cylinder: In order to convert the force of fluid power to a linear mechanical motion with push, pull, lift or lowering, cylinder is used. It is a simple machine with a single moving part. You will get cylinders made of different materials. The application of cylinder is based on speed and force of actuation. Very similarly like motor cylinders too get exposed to different environmental conditions. Cylinders do have a threat from leakage and need to be used being cautious and mostly under the guidance of an expert in the field.
The above three components plays the most important role in the functioning of the system of hydraulic design.
