The Benefits of High Performance Non Contact Dispensing

By BioDot Subscribe to RSS | May 29th 2012 | Views:

Companies involved in the research, development and manufacturer of diagnostic tests use some of the core competencies in low volume non-contact and contact dispensing, Guillotine cutting, and auto laminations. They are committed to develop a range of equipment with complete understanding towards customer requirements.

The teams of application scientists and service engineers strive to develop technologies that are part of worldwide intellectual molecular diagnostics applications. They provide variety of applications for different types of diagnostic test like Lateral Flow, Biosensors, Biochips, Dry Chemistry, Flow Through, Solid Transferring, Handheld & Liquid Dispensers, Immunoblots, and more.

Some of the most recent resourceful technologies offered by them comprise of:

Non contact dispensing, which is the technique of producing liquid media dosages in volumes of less than one microlitre. The ongoing trimness in almost all technical areas creates constant challenges for industry, research and development facilities. Microdispensing is one of the challenging areas where ever smaller amounts of adhesive, liquid, oil, grease and a multitude of other media needs to be dispensed consistently and precisely in amount and placement with shortest cycle time.

There are basically two types of dispensing techniques, contact dispensing and non contact dispensing. In contact dispensing the drop forms at the exit of a nozzle, and is deposited by contact, while the drop is still on the nozzle. Contact dispensing is still used in the majority of automated processes presently due to a lack of knowledge regarding non-contact dispensing systems, lesser manufacturers for non-contact dispensing and no direct access to dispensing area.

The non-contact dispensing arrangement utilizes an aerosol type of dispensing nozzle that use pressurized air to atomize the fluid passing through the nozzle. This creates a quantitative spray format where a dot or line can be quantitatively generated on a nonstop base. Most advanced type of AirJet dispensing technology is non-contact, quantitative aerosol dispensing. The non-contact dispensing system is persistent in gaining significance due to increasing necessities in regards to cycle time and accuracy in almost all areas of production.

The high precision non-contact dispensing is a precondition for molecular diagnostics, evaluation of development and high output screening. This technology provides instrument precision, accuracy, speed, reproducibility, reliability and flexibility, which are critical factors for success. It is designed to perform over years effectively with clear benefits.
