Various Kind of Sports That are Associated Animals
Sports are considered one of the favorite kinds of entertainment in the world. The earlier forms of entertainment came with the help of sports. Probably the early man was fond of hunting and that how the concept of competition involved. Even when we look back into the history, various forms of sports involved animals. Some of the facts prove the many forms of sports are closely associated with animals. Today, some kinds of extreme sports involve animals. Apart from involving animals in our sports activities we have learnt a lot from animals as well. For example there are various forms of swimming that we have learnt from the fishes. Especially we have different diving techniques that the dolphins use in water. Most of the synchronized dancing steps involve choreography that has originated from the fishes. Fishes in waters move in a much synchronized manner and some of these forms are used in the competition that involved most water sports.
However, whenever we think about sports and animals, the first animal that comes to our minds is horse. Horse is a friend of man from the ancient days. He used to go out for hunting to forests on horse. This was a kind of game for many. Later the sport developed and competition began between people. That’s how horse racing started. We have seen a lot of movies depicting horse races. Horse races hold a huge value for money in the modern world. Of course there are different kinds of sports involving horses today. Like the other sports, this also involves a lot of technique. Most of these horse competitions involve different movements of horses. It starts from running, crossing barriers, obeying its master and many others. However, most of these competitions are individual; on the other hand there are completions which involve team efforts. An example of this kind of sport is the Polo. This is one of the favorite games in South America. Just like soccer, American football, rugby and hockey this also involves a team of eleven players. Each player holds a hooked stick in his hand and rides in the horse. Hence there are ten horses involved in this sport. Likewise, there are two teams, who need to chase the ball across the line. The team which does the most is considered the winner.
Apart from the horse, there are other animals as well which take part in human sports. Moving back to the medieval period there were elephant and cart racings as well. Some of these cart racings were followed in the country side and take place even today. One of the weird sports that are followed in South Africa is the Ostrich racing. People make ostrich run and get on the back of ostriches. Since ostriches also run fast and are considered fastest running birds. If we visit places in the United States during the month of March, we will find some of these sports. This is very grand during its season, a festival named Ostrich festival. However, some of these races are banned during the other parts of the year. Likewise there are many events that take place throughout the year and throughout the world. Most of these games feature on our televisions like ATT Uverse. Today we find many people watching some of these sports all day long. While some of these sports are very professional, some of them are considered funny and adventurous. Apart from these there are other kinds of animals, which people use for gambling. An example of this is the cock fights. Cock fights are very famous in some parts of the world; however, they are banned in many places.
