Just recently, David Weremay of Orlando, Florida, auditioned for the Disney On Ice 100 Years Of Magic and is one of the latest Filipino figure skaters to achieve this feat. Another Filipino-American who has successfully been skating with Disney On Ice is Justine Lopez who has played four different characters, including Iridessa and the newest Disney Princess, Tiana, from the Princess and The Frog; however, Justine mainly performs in Disney On Ice Let's Celebrate.

David will be playing the Genie from Aladdin, and will successfully be playing other parts as a background skater. In this Disney On Ice show, there is a specific section where there are about a dozen of Genie's that perform, but David is the main one who does the coveted back flip during the performance. Many figure skaters are usually understudies for other Disney parts, and at the finale, David occasionally becomes one of the Princes in case the original isn't feeling well. Aside from the Princes, he is also an understudy for Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, and Simba.

David starting figure skating at the age of 13 and progressed very quickly. He won the National Showcase when he was 19 on the Intermediate level, and having experience in this specific competition is where most of the casting directors of Disney On Ice mainly look at in a skater's resume. There was literally no doubt as to who David would be, but when his figure skating coach, Logan Jade Wang, convinced him to audition, they knew he would get one of the starring rolls for his wonderful performing skills. Logan Wang is an extremely powerful coach, and his work ethic gave David the right techniques to getting better and jumping with ease. David said that he can't wait to grow and keep skating with the company. He's already been touring for two weeks and he knows how hard it can be to skate with a professional ice show. Luckily, he knows that no other experience can replace the life lessons he has already learned throughout the tour, despite the fact that it's only been a few weeks.
