If you play golf regularly, you must have heard of the term golf flexibility. It is a common term used by senior golfers. Most of them realize that their level of golf flexibility and distance decreases with age. Decreased flexibility can cause decreased driving distance, hard time repeating good swings, and a decreased level of performance can cause frustration and dissatisfaction.

If you want to hit the golf ball for maximum yardage, you require golf flexibility. It helps in generating clubhead speed and power at impact. A golfer who has enough flexibility can rotate around 90 degrees with his upper body and about 45 degrees with his lower body which creates the “X-Factor” for longer distances.

As we age, performance takes toll as there is a decrease in level of power and flexibility and muscles that are not used or stretched tend to lose elasticity and hence, the ability to produce sufficient power required for hitting the ball for longer distances. This affects a golfer’s ability to enjoy the game and this is one of the reasons why many golfers quit the game.

According to Christopher Harney, to counter this problem, going for a golf fitness evaluation for determining weak areas is a good idea. Once you find your weak areas, proper stretching of the required areas can help you in improving tremendously. Christopher Harney himself has been a professional golfer who held the world record of 1981 National Power Hitting Champion. He has also been associated with prestigious associations like PGA of America, the Massachusetts Golf Association, and the United States Golf Association.

Christopher Harney has also written weekly sports column for “Ask The Experts” column of The Boston Globe, and readers learned a lot about the intricacies of golf through his tips and advice. He also has experience in developing corporate golf programs.
