Introduction to Different Learning Style and Techniques in Tarot
It is believed that tarot cards are powerful tools for those with the ability to interpret the cards.
With each card’s unique astrological meaning and numeric significance, tarots could be used to gain insight, clarity, and achieve greater control over issues involving relationships, life changes, family, career, health, spirituality, and dreams.
From a tarot card reading, one will be able to look beyond the normal senses and gain tremendous power of meaning that lay in each card, guiding you in love, happiness, and freedom.
With these benefits, it’s no wonder that many want to learn how to read the tarots.
Preparing to Read the Tarot
Prior to try learning to read a tarot, you must first do these in order for you to successfully learn tarot reading and quickly.
Do an Initial Research. Read about basic information on tarots, tarot reading and styles. You can do this online or by reading books. Ask Tarot Readers in your area what a tarot reading entails to the both the reader and the querent.
Know your Tarot. Read on the basics on the tarot card. Find out about different Tarot decks and spread. Be familiar with the different card decks and the spreads. Practice on doing the different spreads. Knowing these will make it easier to learn how to do a reading.
Have a Tarot Reading yourself. By doing this, you will experience what a reading entails. A reading will also benefit you from a standpoint of personal demonstration of tarot reading. You will be able to see how the reading is done, the process and the results.
Different Learning Style in Tarot
Now that you have prepared yourself, arming yourself with the most appropriate knowledge and skills, you are now ready to learn.
Learning to read a tarot has 3 main learning styles namely:
1.Visual. This style is for those visual people who like materials they can see. In learning to read, the reader is advised to choose a deck of Tarot cards that visually appeals to him. This deck may have images or pictures that tell the stories and where there is plenty of color and details.
2.Auditory. This style is for those auditory people who learn primarily by what one can hear. It is advised that the reader must listen to audios books or audio versions of his favorite Tarot book or course as one is doing other things.
3.Kinesthetic. This style is for those kinesthetic people who easily learn by feeling and touching. In learning, it is advised that you choose a physical course or workshop where you can experience and internalize the learning. In this way, you can get a feel for the teacher and the other people around.
You can choose a tarot deck that is symbol-based deck as you may have the ability to get an immediate feeling about the cards and will not really need to have pictures to trigger off your intuition.
Additional Learning Styles
You can also use a mixture of a couple of styles, with one being predominating than the others. If you want to learn a lot faster, work on your dominant learning style and choose appropriate resources.
Moreover, in learning, you must choose 2 or 3 to concentrate on initially.
Ideally, you are advised to choose one with just a few cards like a 3- or 5-Card spread, and another larger spread involving 10-15+ cards. However, take note that it is still important to be able to perform larger spreads, though it can be trickier. You do this, because there is significance of certain cards that overlap and/or depend on their position within a spread.
Now that you have chosen some spreads to work with initially, you must practise them often.
Remember, that in practicing as well as in doing a true reading, you must be in the right, calm, open, receptive, non-emotional, frame of mind to be able to read Tarot effectively.
