Cleaning Up Your Spirituality
Aspects of spirituality are the least tended in our lives. Believe it or not, the physical body is lucky to get all the attention. Everyday, we wake up and make sure that we are clean, well-fed and clothed. Everyone loves to look good physically. So what about the self? Is it well tended as well? Are we even aware that we need a spiritual awakening in our life once in a while?
The truth is that we do live in a very busy world. We look around and life is not fun anymore. There is so much to look after be it our families or work. There is so little time and a million things to do within the same. But yet still, that is no excuse to neglect our spirituality. We do need a thorough clean-up if we have been caught up in this mess.
The amazing thing is that after scrubbing off the dirt in our spiritual life, it can be well all over again; like it has always been. But we need to first establish how it got dirty in the first place. Did we stop practicing those spiritual practices that we always did? Thus after successfully tracing the falling point, then we can know how to rise again. This would be one great and strong form of spiritual awakening.
The easiest solution to cleaning our spirituality is to be as fast as possible. In the same way, make it regular. Improve your spiritual life as often as you can. Do all that you can so that once in a while you have a spiritual awakening that brings you back to reality. And once again, you can experience the glow and awe that you previously did. You can rejoice as you feel that deep sense of inner peace once again.
So today, keep your spiritual house as clean as it could possibly be.
