Some Unusual but Valid Reasons to Shop Online in India
India is a destination where ecommerce is fast on the rise. Over the last year itself, hundreds of ecommerce websites have cropped in the country, selling everything from discounted shoes to gadgets and everything else under the sun. The usual reasons given for the rise of online shopping in India is people becoming more educated, fast paced lives, higher disposable incomes and the like. However, here is a different perspective on the same subject. Here are some unusual yet valid reasons on why it makes perfect sense to shop online in India. It is a little out of the box, a little humorous and yet, it makes perfect sense.
Rising petrol and diesel bills- Blame on international crude oil prices, insensitivity of the government or failure of the government to find more oil in the country, the fact is that prices of petrol have been on the rise over the last few years. Compared to some other countries, driving a car costs almost double the amount in India than in some other places. On the other hand, electricity comes relatively cheaper, not to speak of the fact that most people use laptops instead of desktops. Considering the cost factor of shopping alone, let alone the purchase, it makes perfect sense to shop online in India.
Parking space- For those who live in metropolitans like Delhi, Mumbai and the likes, they must be well aware of what we are talking about here. The number of cars is on the rise in the country, but sadly, parking space is not increasing at the same rate. Thus, fights over parking space, which many times turn ugly, are a common place. Why not eliminate the whole concept of parking itself? Ecommerce definitely gives you that option and that’s why, it is a smart thing to shop online in India than go to brick and mortar stores. At best, you might have to contend with once in a blue moon server crashes and that’s it.
Save tax- Did you know that ecommerce sites levy taxes on products in only those states in which they have physical presence? In other words, if an ecommerce company is based out of Delhi and does not have an office any place else, it will levy sales tax on products shipped in Delhi only. Not many know that, but that’s how it works. Thus, when you choose to shop online in India, you also give yourself a chance to save taxes. Interesting, isn’t it?
