What are the Pleasures and Rewards of Parenting?

Begetting children is a basic desire of humanity. Whether it is a woman or a man bringing up their children and making them useful citizens is always a prime consideration in their mind. Parenting is also about making sacrifices. In fact parents will go to any extent to provide the best for their children. The investment they make on their children is kind of like buying an insurance policy. No doubt that childless couple spend hundreds and thousands of dollars justly for a child. More than begetting is the pleasure that is derived bringing them up and seeing them grow into celebrities.

Difficulties in parenting starts when a woman gets pregnant to the time when their children get married and have their own kids, we cannot say there are difficulties in one stage and it gets reduced as the kid gets older. From changing nappies, heating bottles, staying awake over night to chasing away bad boys, making sure the boys don’t bring strays every time from college to listening to their children rant and rave about the difficulties of parenthood, each stage has its own difficulty. It is the way the parents handle situations like these that makes the difference!

Most of the parents try to spend more time with their children. But there are parents who are not able to spend some time with their young ones. Maybe they are busy with their work or they are away from the family. When parents are busy with their work, they will think about sending their children to boarding schools. Do you think boarding schools can give these children the love and affection that they are missing from their parents? When they grow up, will these children have the emotional attachment with their parents? I don’t think so. Try to keep your children along with you and enjoy their different stages of growth.

We all want to be a good parent and the best way is to spend some time with your kids. You could try to know what they like, the names of their best friend, what they did at school, etc. There are endless means where you can show that you care for your child and do not want to make them think that you are bossy or treat them like small children. Especially if you are a parent of a teenager, you need to avoid being protective of your kid. Frankly, we never want to be known as a bad or overprotective parent.

Teenagers always put up a hissy fit. Teenagers are defiant and disobedient. Teenagers pick up bad habits faster than anything else. Bottom line, teenagers are always oh so much troublesome. Not really, if you spend some more time with your kids. These days, parents don’t know a thing about what’s happening in their teen’s life. Avoid arriving at this scenario at all costs. Don’t get too over emotional. Anger strikes and it strikes hard. When a delicate situation arises, address them with care. Calm down, hear their opinions and show them (practically) what’s wrong. Parenting teenagers is not an easy feat. It’s like trekking up Mt. Everest-when you reach the peak, you’re left completely breathless, with all your energy lost. But, isn’t the view totally worth the climb? The same concept can be applied to parenting teenagers. You just need to approach them the right way, and when they come out with flying colors they’ll make you so proud.

The way in which people bring up kids is much different from that of the early days. Today, we find most people have childminders, while both the father and mother go for work. In some situations the grandparents help their children. This could sometimes affect the children, while the young child wants to be with their parents. However, since all the parents cannot be with their child all the time, it is important for them to teach their children some good habits, play with them, show them love and affection.
