• Not assessing benefits that are hard to quantify: Aspects such as improvement in production, increase in warehouse efficiency or even customer service are no doubt difficult to quantify. But these cannot be overlooked if one wants to improve the bottom-line.

• Underestimating the project ramp-up phase: Warehouse Management Softwares are not supposed to deliver great results straightaway after implementation. Any such system needs an operational ramp-up phase wherein it gradually proceeds to the desired level of performance through more and more training and software usage.

• Passing the Buck: Lastly, one of the most common mistakes that the top management do is to not remain involved in the implementation process.
