Three Flooring Options That Add Value
Author: charliedima34 | Posted: 30.12.2011Want to add value to your house? Well here are some options that will increase the value of your house just by adding new flooring. Depending on how much you want to increase the value will also depend on how much you want to invest. The higher the upgrade is, the more likely it is that you will get a higher return on investment. One of these three flooring options could make all the difference.
Wood
The first option you might want to consider buying is wood. Wood is a good type of flooring because it traps fewer allergens such as dust, pollen and dust mites. Not only that, but it improves air quality according to the American Lung Association. Another great reason why wood is a good choice is because it is durable. If you maintain it and keep it clean, then you won't have to replace it for a very long time. That will save you money in the long run. To maintain wood, all you need to really do is just sweep it from time to time and vacuum it. It also gives out a more natural look to the home.
Tile
The second type of flooring you could choose is tile. This is most common in bathrooms and kitchens. Maintaining tile is easy as well. You can spill almost anything on tile and it will be easy to clean up. Even if tile becomes stained, a little elbow-grease can fix it up so that it looks brand new.
Choosing tile is not as complicated as you think it would be either. Tiles come in many different sizes, shapes and colors so it's easy to find something you like that works with your design. Most tiles usually withstand heavy foot traffic so they can go in almost any room. Although, each kind of tile will have different levels of durability, the more durable tiles go best in places where there is heavy foot traffic. With an open mind, and patience, you will find the perfect tile for your house.
Natural Stone
Lastly, natural stone will add huge value to your house because it is a natural product and not that many people have it. which makes it very unique. Not only is it unique, but it is ecofriendly as well. Other than the energy required for quarrying and processing it, no other resources are needed and it does not produce harmful waste. It is safe because it contains no pollutants, so it will not damage your health.
The plus side about having natural stone is that it is individual. It can be processed into any shape you request and almost any size. That makes it easy for you to install. Stone is usually cut into blocks though. Additionally, having natural stone is great because if you maintain it well, it could last for over 30 years. The cleaning cost and maintenance cost is relatively low. In the long run it will save you money as well.
Adding one of these three flooring options to your house could really add value to your house. Again, the more you invest, the more the value is going to increase.
