As soon as the word gaming strikes one mind, there is a stir of adventure and boost of energy within the body. Almost, everyone whether he is a child or a teenager or even an adult loves to play games. In most part of the world, gaming refers to those video games which require intense dedication and have very high sound effects and loud music. But this belief of people has been dismissed greatly by the most exquisite card game, Magic The Gathering. The game of cards is not new to the world. Our ancestors have been playing cards since many years and still there popularity has not diminished at all, which is commonly seen with various other earlier games. The card games have been able to make their mark on people’s heart. As a result of this, a new card game has been evolved, which not only gives the feeling and experience of playing cards but also incorporates all the features that various other video games possess nowadays.
Rules
Maximum numbers of people who can play the game, Magic The Gathering at a time are four. However, a minimum of two people can also play it. The game is mostly for people who are either at the age of 13 or above. It hardly requires any setup time. The time duration of the game is approximately 25 minutes if played continuously without any breaks. There is not a significant pattern which can decide which player would win it. It depends largely on the type of card that an individual holds and what he does with his card. The game specifically deals in magical worlds and the meeting of different wizards. It incorporates a battle of wizards which are also referred to as plane walkers. A player is given the freedom of choosing the plane walker. As soon as he decides, the game can be started. At the start of the game, 20 life points are assigned to each player. A player is declared to be a winner if he is able to destroy the other opponent, thereby, zeroing his life points. An attack on a player will cause him to lose his life point. Hence, a player has to be very cautious while playing Magic The Gathering. A player can prevent himself from being attacked by using his magical cards. The magical cards are of 5 types. Each of them has its own unique color and function. Based on the type of attack, one can chose the magical card.
Award and popularity
One cannot ignore the popularity that the card has received among the masses. Its popularity can well be defined by the numerous awards that the game has won, ever since its advent. It has won the Origin wards in the year 1998, 2005 and also in 2009. Hence, one would have to acknowledge the demand and popularity of Magic The Gathering.
