Typewriters were previously used for typing correspondences before the advent of computers. You could possibly have heard the tapping of the keys which would seem to be a rhythm to the ears. The rewinding of the handle, unwinding of the paper and tapping of the keys all might now seem nostalgic to you. In these days of computers, the typewriter has become a rare collection in offices. Business establishments and even individuals prefer to use the computer over typewriter because of its ease.

The olden days of Typewriters

In previous days, when typewriters were the only mode of writing correspondences, people used to hold their head quite high. A typed document was considered to a matter of sophistication and pride, which only a few could access to. Typing on the typewriter was not easy and required proper training to do so. There was a pattern of learning which an individual had to undergo and practice thoroughly to master this art. A certificate was awarded to the individual who had successfully undergone typing and this diploma or degree in typewriters was a matter of importance as individuals could secure typing jobs. There were many big names that dominated the typewriter industry, such as Remington, Philips, etc. There were also various types of typewriter like the business typewriter and the personal one.

Importance of typewriters

The earlier version of the typewriter worked on manual power, however, with invention, electronic typewriters were introduced. They were used by all types of establishments, governments’ offices and for personal use. Typing was given high importance as every individual and entrepreneur wanted their correspondences in black and white and neat and clean. They wanted all their documents to be clear and appropriate and the typewriters provided them with the perfect platform for well maintained documents.
