Tabarca is a large island in Spain in terms of population and size. The area comes under the administrative control of local authorities of Alicante City. It is located in the Mediterranean Sea near Costa Blanca because of which it is blessed with immense natural beauty. The distance of this island is only 11 miles from Alicante. It is located in the south eastern direction of Alicante towards the Santa Pola Cape.

Approaching the island is very easy because there are many maritime lines connecting the island with the land. The island can be most conveniently approached from Alicante, Torrevieja and Santa Pola. People usually reach the island within 30 minutes from Santa Pola and in an hour from Alicante. The size of Tabarca Island is good. It is 400 meters in width and 1800 meters in length. The island has a peaceful atmosphere and wonderful landscapes which are amusing for all kinds of visitors. The place is nothing less than a paradise in its appearance.

The island of Tabarca receives good number of tourists in the summer months. Almost three thousand people visit the island everyday in summer. One of the great reasons for that are the summer vacations. Apart from summer months the island have good visitors whole year. One of the reasons of that is the ideal temperature of the island. It remains around 17 degree centigrade most of the year.

The island of Tabarca has a great history. It was invaded by a Tunisian King in the 18th century. The island had its importance in history as it remained a military stronghold for the protection of Costa Blanca against the pirates. The island is a Marine Reserve since 1986. That means fishing is prohibited on the Island unless proper permits are there. Similarly Scuba diving is not allowed anywhere near the island. There are many other things prohibited on the island in the similar manner.

There are appropriate facilities available for human survival on the island. There are opportunities of entertainment as well as eating available on the island for all the visitors. Sea food is available on the island. Some very tasty cuisines including sea foods are available on the island for visitors. One of the best cuisines on the island includes Caldero. Spending time on the Island is nothing less than an adventure. People that visit Tabarca once love to come again and again.
