They say nobody ever wins in a war. No matter which side you are on, lives and properties are lost in the violence and bloodshed. Survivors have it hard as well; they get to replay the memories of war in their heads, watching everything around them crumble while people die from gunshots and genocides. If you look at the bigger picture, nobody ever really gets happy when the war is over. Although they are free from the confines of conflicts, the memories will be etched in the corners of their minds. Hence, negative emotions and post traumatic stress disorders are often a problem in war veterans.

Though therapy is often a cure for these traumatic experiences, it could take years and years before a patient fully recovers. Aside from the longevity of the process, the trauma, stress, or phobia may come back after some time. As such, doctors try to find ways of making the recovery faster and more effective—one of which is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

EFT focuses on dealing with emotional issues and pain. It is the process of finding the source of your emotional distress to relieve physical conditions such as headaches, chest pains, and other related phobias. The concept of EF mainly revolves around the relationship of the body's energy to its functions. As such, the source of negative emotions are first tapped and released so the body will be relieved from any sort of pain.

EFT Solutions and healing processes are often administered using tapping, meditation, and hypnotism. The fingertips are used to stimulate different pressure points in your body associated with your specific condition. It works much like acupuncture—minus the needles—and is said to be very effective when dealing with weight loss issues.

Instructions about the healing process can be found in an EFT DVD. It usually starts with a chant to release negative energies. After getting used to the chant, you will then have to rub or tap certain pressure points in your body that are connected to the emotional and physical distress. The pressure points that you should note are the crown, forehead, base of the neck, collarbone, and the cheeks. The process should be repeated for several times—usually three to four times for each pressure point.

It has been seen on numerous cases that EFT Training and counseling are beneficial to patients who are dealing with traumas and phobias. In the past, war veterans and survivors were counseled to alleviate conditions such as ADHD and extreme cases of post-traumatic stress disorders. Although proven to be effective, EFT should be done with professional guidance for safety reasons.
