There are many different places to shop near to most Kunming City Centre hotels, making a day of retail therapy easy without having to carry shopping bags very far. You will find all sorts of goods for sale in the area, providing plenty of ideas for souvenirs and gifts to take back home for your family and friends.

If you are looking for hand dyed clothing, accessories or even Chinese tea, then JinBi ShanChang is perfect. They sell many interesting arts and crafts items that make great gifts. JinBi ShanChang is aimed mainly at tourists, so you may need to practice your haggling skills if you want to get a bargain, as the stallholders tend to charge more when they see tourists from outside of the area.

You could also take advantage of the many bustling outdoor markets. Depending on what your interests are, there are various fruit and food markets, with their mouth-watering colourful displays. In addition, there are arts and crafts stalls and if you are looking for good bargains, the flea markets are ideal. Yunnan Wholesale Tea Market is excellent for buying a wide variety of tea at very reasonable prices, while the Kunming and Jingxing Bird and Flower Markets are great fun to look around even if you are not interested in purchasing anything.

Guandu Ancient Town is very popular with tourists and is a lovely historic place to visit, with several temples and many shopping opportunities. You can experience ancient Chinese culture at the same time as enjoying some retail therapy.
