In China one of the nations favourite past times is to head to a KTV and sing ones heart out. If you're a foreigner, knowing just about any Chinese song well enough to sing it is going to impress your friends and colleagues. Some recommendations for you to begin with include "Love" (《爱》 Ài) by The Little Tigers band (小虎队 Xiǎohǔ duì), a rock song that's slow and easy to sing, but still poppy enough to impress your guests. The song "Love You" (《爱你》 Ài nǐ) by Wang Xinling (王心凌), is also a good one as it has been a hit for younger KTV-goers over the past year or two.

Advanced: Advanced study Chinese in China students can really knock their socks off with songs from Jay Chou (周杰伦 Zhōu Jiélún) or any of China's other hip-hop R&B stars. Anything with a rap verse is going to impress, but it's also going to be difficult to learn, as the rhythm will be fast, and there will be more words than in a regular song.

No matter what level you are currently at, what is most definite, study Chinese in China students will in one way or another be invited to a KTV. When this happens, go! As not only does it serves as a good time out, it also provides for some good learning.
