It’s baffling now that I think about it. There are actually no preventive treatments for bed bugs. So much effort is put on getting rid of these pests, that nobody thought of how to prevent them from coming into a particular structure or home. However, it could be due to the fact that certain regulatory bodies and agencies in the community are not in favor of using pesticides for preventive purposes.

If you are really interested in pursuing such idea, then we believe that it would be a good start if you go and consult with the regulatory agencies that manage your facility to see what their opinions are about using insecticides to prevent or control bed bug infestations. If they give you a go signal, that is good news. You could proceed to your original plan and use insecticides to try and prevent the presence of bed bugs in your area. As for the choices of insecticides, go for what is the most effective for you. Phantom is good, as well as Suspend and Temprid. You could also go one step higher use a dust product like Alpine Dust Insecticide in the wall voids. Also, consider using traps like Climb Up Bed Bug Inceptors on the legs of beds and other furniture. These will help monitor the areas for the presence of bed bugs.

Be proactive and assertive. Hold a meeting with the building manager, tenants and homeowners. Educate them on what bed bugs are and how they look like. Tell them too, what these bed bugs are capable of doing. Make them understand that there are things that they can do to eliminate these unwanted house guests or even to prevent them from coming into their homes. Enlist their cooperation. That way, you will have all the resources and support that you need in order to fight these bed bugs.
