The smoking ban in public places in the United Kingdom has been in force for many years now, at first the smokers up and down the country kicked up a stink due to this ban really causing them what they thought was an inconvenience at the time. As the time has passed people are now use to the fact that they are now allowed to smoke in public buildings. But the fact of the matter is that these people still smoke and they all need a place to go now that they are banned to smoke inside public buildings. The article is aimed at discussing what happened after the smoking ban came into force in relation to an increase in certain products. As mentioned previously the smoking ban in enforcement in the United Kingdom affected people in a way that caused companies to try and create businesses to try and accommodate the new consumers and the shift in the way that they did and perceived the world. It is only after you look at all of these different things and ideas that you can start to get an understanding as to all of the different changes and patterns that came into force in very quick succession. Some examples of the different things that people started implementing include:

 Outdoor heaters – in and around the smoking ban there was a significant increase in the amount of outdoor heaters purchased up and down the whole of the United Kingdom. The sales of these outdoor heaters actually went up by over 1000% and has been a steady market ever since.

Cafe barriers – the fact that coffee shops, bars and clubs had to have outdoor smoking areas meant that you saw an increase in outdoor seating. The meant that these companies needed to advertise and warden off these areas so people knew that these people were in that specific place. All of this leads to the increase in café barriers being bought.
