Campaign Brochure: Make the most of it

By Ron Fox Subscribe to RSS | June 28th 2012 | Views:

Campaign Brochure is good item for promotion during an election campaign. It serves important purpose to display your political agenda to the voters. Campaign Brochure generally is the first promotional document which is forwarded to voters during election campaign. It is therefore important that a campaign brochure should leave an effective impression on your voters.

It is very common that you will write too much of the content for your brochure and then your realise that the text will not fit to the allotted space for the brochure, it is however suggested to write more content and then delete less important part than to struggle for content to fit it into the brochure size. Also the shape and folds of your brochure will largely decide on the content and the placing of content of the brochure. The first visible part of your brochure should contain a professional photograph of a candidate and also should inform reader about the brief biography and ‘about’ of the candidate. The campaign logo of the candidate should be very prominent and recognizable on the brochure.

The Brochure tells a lot about the candidate and its campaign, it is always suggested to use short sentences, brief paragraphs instead of writing lengthy stories on the brochure, also use of bullet points to illustrate makes the content interesting and easy to understand.

As illustrated above, photograph plays an important role for the promotion in a brochure, similarly charts and graphs also helps in depicting your performance effectively to your voters. A chart explaining the increase in number of supporters for your campaign will have good impact on your voters. You can also display the ill performance of your opponent in any of the department in the form of explainable graphs.

The look and feel of the brochure should be attractive and should persuade the reader to read the entire copy of your brochure. Pay special attention to the font size of the text on your brochure as overstuffed brochure gives dirty look and makes bad impression on the voters/readers. The photographs, charts and graphs on the brochure also follow the same rule and it should be designed in a way that even if they are re-sized, they are clear and delivers exact message.

A candidate can hire a designer for the designing a campaign brochure, however it is good to proofread the draft entirely before it is sent out for printing. Discuss with your printing agency to get you the fair deal with Eco-friendly materials to be used for printing. Also examine about the charges and the legal requirements of mailing these brochure to the voters, it is good that a candidate abide by the local laws while designing campaign brochure before getting it printed so as to avoid any wastage.

Always consider sending out these brochures as an email to your voter. You can get the updated email list of your voters from an agency or the local office. Similar rule about abiding local laws should be followed while considering online distribution. Also upload a soft copy of your brochure on your website so that it is always accessible to your voters.
