Having a pet at home is like having a soothing friend at your beck and call. They won’t protest and will give you all the love you have wanted. In fact scientific studies show people who have pets that less likely fall prey to heart attacks and strokes. It is a way of showing love toward animal and the world at large. That someone cares for you is enough reason to own a pet. It is like bringing up a child you have begotten. Go ahead and make the first move to buy a pet; a dog, a cat or even a fish is all that you need to get love. Even though the home service packages like Cox Deals delivers fully packed entertainment solutions, the pets in home keeps as entertained with their cuteness as well.

Did you know that watching the movement of a fish increases your memory power? So, whoever feels that having fishes as pets are just for decoration and are of the opinion that they don’t have any other use, then change your mind immediately! Fishes are pets that can be looked after easily. There are no messy litter boxes involved. Feeding them twice a day and cleaning the aquarium at regular intervals is all the work that is required. They are also inexpensive to buy and maintain unlike the other pets that have to be scrubbed, groomed and cleaned. The work doesn’t stop there; they also require special attention that is equal to looking after a child.

Lovebirds can be our good companions. It’s really interesting to see different lovebirds in a cage. Their tittering sound always makes our home surroundings more active. They can live up to 15 years. There are several species of lovebirds. But the most commonly found species in the pet shop includes peach faced lovebirds, masked lovebirds and Fischer's lovebirds. Even in the peach faced lovebirds, we can see many color mutations. It’s the color mutations of lovebirds that make them more popular pets. Lovebirds always like to live in groups. So always try not to keep a single lovebird.

Dogs are a man’s best friend. This proverb must have appeared numerous times in our childhood. Dogs are the best companions. They are the ultimate pets. They are extremely protective about and loyal to their owners. Dogs have known to exhibit severe empathy towards their owners. They understand your thoughts emotions and feelings. Some of the characteristics of dogs usually depend on the type of the breeds. For example, Labradors and Golden retrievers are easy to train and are intelligent. They love to be with children. They are ideal for indoor growth. Bloodhounds, Dobermans and German Shepherds are the perfect guard dogs. They are also known to be possessive of their owners.

If you really want to be an owner of a pet, you really need to make a lot of sacrifices and there are things you need to know. Before bring a pet to your house, you need to know the various eating habits of the pet, whether you house can accommodate one and whether you are allergic to it. Once you bring a pet to your house, there is no turning back in raising and taking care of it. Your responsibility will be that of a parent. Just like how you take care of your child at a small age, the same can be said of raising a pet from its tender age. It is not an easy task.

Through the ages man has been with pets. Looking at the history, man tamed animals for different purposes. However, some of the animals which have been closest to man are horses, elephants, camels, fishes, birds (like pigeons), dogs, donkeys, cows and many others. Man tamed all these animals for various purposes, he knew these could be friendly and they cannot harm him.
