Summer time is traditionally hot. Some of the most common substances to be cautious about with pets is coolants, antifreeze and radiator fluid. These substances are really harmful to pets and you need to take proper pet care. Such substances should be kept away from them as their ignorance towards such things can be the very reason of their near fatal sickness.

There are various substances that may apparently seem to be of no harm to your pets but has indirect effects on them which can be deadly at times. Pet care necessarily means to keep the pets safe from those substances too. Mulch is one such item. Cocoa mulch contains obromine and caffeine which, even if eaten even in little amount, can cause a lot of damage to your pet dog’s health causing gastrointestinal problems, neuromuscular problems, and death.

Pets have an uncanny liking for anything that is sprayed. The fertilizers sprayed on the grass and plants of your garden goes into the stomach of the pets and cause health hazards. Try to buy the fertilizer with minimum toxic content and which seeps into the ground quickly. In the same way, insecticides can be equally harmful. In trying to prevent the attack of pests and insects on your garden, these are applied. It is an important step of pet care to safeguard your pet is healthy from such deadly items.

Poison used to kill rodents is a huge threat to your pet’s health and life. They may eat the poison or the dead rodent and get sick, even die. As a part of pet care, you should keep these poisons away from your pets and try to dispose the dead rodents as quickly as possible..
