Pet Boarding Facilities Compared to Pet Sitting Options

By Jercyjohn Subscribe to RSS | May 29th 2012 | Views:

Pet boarding is suitable for pet owners to leave their pets at while they are experiencing a busy schedule or on a trip. It is basically a daycare place for a pet in an established pet boarding location for a short duration or long duration of time. It is different from the dog boarding facilities as dog boarders only care for dogs whereas pet boarding is best for all pets. You should always check that the pet boarding companies are insured, bonded and vastly experienced in the selection process and then select the suitable, most perfect one for your pet.

What Do You Know About Pet Sitting And Pet Boarding?

There are two main options for the pet owners to select for their pets which include pet sitting services and pet boarding services. There are certainly benefits to each one but you have to choose the right service for your pet.

• The pet boarding is perfect for your dog if he/she is quite sociable. Pet boarding services will vary in price and inclusions. If you choose the dog boarding facility, your dog will have to be in unfamiliar surroundings but they will be with other dogs and individuals 24/7. The staff will give your dog ample exercise during the daytime but your pet may be alone in the kennel overnight.

• If your dogs are less social, then pet sitting services are often best for them. Pet sitting is a bit different from pet boarding since the dog gets the services in their home. The dog sitters will go and take care of them in their home itself, which is quite easy for the pets. It is a lower risk of injury or illness and the dog will also feel happy and content. The dog sitters who are experts will provide walks, maintain the same play, keep your pup on his/her feeding schedule and may even stay overnight if the pet needs them there.

• If you are on vacation, then either pet sitting or pet boarding services are good choices for your pet. Otherwise, if you want someone to take care of your dog in the daytime only, then doggie daycare is a good fit where you would drop off your dog in the morning and pick your pup up at night.
