Newcastle offers visitors a wide array of things to do. Whether in the city for the nightlife, shopping or heritage, there will always be something of interest. By staying in hotels in Newcastle City Centre visitors will be close to all of the local amenities and attractions. With some of Europe's largest indoor shopping centres, a vast array of museums and galleries, and the countryside all within easy reach, visitors are guaranteed to find an activity of interest.

Heritage Sites

Some of the most well known landmarks includes Castle Keep, Tynemouth Priory, Hadrian's Wall and the Victoria Tunnel. Castle Keep is one of the UK's only remaining examples of neo-classical architecture, whilst the Tynemouth Priory and Hadrian’s Wall offer visitors the chance to view 2,000 year old monuments. Most of Newcastle's heritage sites are within easy reach of the city centre.

Music and Film

Newcastle's premier venue, the Metro Radio Arena hosts world renowned musical acts, comedians, and performers on a daily basis. The city also contains the entertainment centre known as The Gate; this cinema complex has 12 screens, and contains a collection of indoor restaurants and bars.

Dining and Nightlife

Newcastle is known for having a very vibrant nightlife. There are three main areas in the city that are known for their bars, restaurants and clubs, these are Bigg Market, Collingwood Street and The Gate. The Bigg Market is in the Quayside area and contains over twenty different bars and restaurants. Collingwood Street is known for its high end bars, often occupied by businessmen till the early hours.
