Málaga Things to Do
Cabalgata de los Reyes
Translated into English as ‘Three Holy Kings’, this is a historic Spanish event. Many of the largest Spanish city centres host the event and Málaga is no exception. The locals dress in costumes to celebrate and a trio of locals ride around on horses. A parade is also part of the celebration, with many interesting floats, and small presents are distributed to the crowd, making this a fun event for children to be a part of. This event takes place in January.
Caranaval
Held in early February, this characteristically Spanish event is known throughout the world. It is also celebrated around the world, but one of the best places to be for this party is in Málaga. There are many parades and festivities held around this event, and the party often happens in the streets. No matter which of the hotels in Málaga you are staying in, the chances are you will run into locals having a good time.
Holy Week
This event takes place around the middle of March and, as its title implies, it is centred around religious ceremony. The week ends in traditional celebrations for Good Friday and Easter Sunday. This interesting event attracts devout followers as well as tourists and visitors who just want to take in the atmosphere. You do not need to be a Christian to find the festivities of Holy Week interesting, as this type of festival is fascinating for anyone who is interested in cultural or historic events.
