Haifa Things to Do

There are a number of things to do in Haifa, including exploring the popular tourist attractions, which can become busy in the peak season. Haifa is the perfect place to visit for visitors who have an interest in history, old buildings or just learning about new things. Hotels in Haifa are ideally located conveniently close to many of these sights.

Haifa Educational Zoo

Haifa Educational Zoo is an ideal place to visit for people of all ages. Anyone travelling with children should certainly add it to their things to do list. It can become hot at midday, so it may be best to visit earlier in the day or later in the afternoon. The zoo stays open until around 7pm. There is a park area for children to play and enjoy a picnic and a wide range of animals to see; the white tigers are amazing. The zoo is located on a mountainside and may be a little difficult for anyone with mobility problems, however, on some days there is a ride to the top, and so the walk back might be easier.

Baha’I Gardens and Golden Dome

Perhaps the biggest tourist attraction in the area, the Baha’I Gardens and Golden Dome, are an amazing sight to see. At night they are illuminated, which helps to create a great atmosphere for anyone taking a stroll around the city. The gardens are situated on the side of Mount Carmel and it is possible to start both from the bottom and walk up or from the top and work your way down. Either way the views from the summit are spectacular.
