Darwin Things to Do
The hotels in Darwin are never very far away from one of the city’s many attractions and no matter what your taste, you are sure to find something to do that will keep you busy for hours.
Darwin Culture
The local museums offer the chance to learn more about local history and culture and there are several to choose from. There is the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, which overlooks the bay and has its own tropical gardens. Within the museum there is the maritime gallery that features all manner of things nautical. A number of museums have exhibitions dedicated to Cyclone Tracy, which occurred in 1974 and wreaked havoc on the city.
For an open-air concert, why not visit the ruins of the old town hall? These are located close to the Smith Street Mall so are easy to reach on foot. The Oil Storage Tunnels dating to World War II are open to the public and are informative on the wartime era.
Activities in Darwin
Those who are feeling a little adventurous might want to try skydiving while they are in Darwin. It is one of the most exhilarating ways to see the city and you can take a tandem jump so that you are not on your own. This is not a very expensive activity, although the higher you want to jump from, the more it will cost.
A more relaxing way to see the city is to take a Sunset Cruise. Those who opt for the cruise can enjoy a meal and drink while on board and sit back and enjoy the view.
