Edible Oils and There Process of Refining

Edible oils are commonly used in the process of cooking and they have a high content of fat present in them. These oils are required to be refined before they can be used for cooking various dishes. In the process of refining the most important thing is to remove the fatty acids that are present in an extra quantity and to prevent the oils from any kind of oxidation.

In the oil refining process the requirement is to not just remove the fatty acids but to also remove the unwanted components, color and odor. These unwanted elements if not removed will have a negative impact on the taste and the color of the food. The oil that is left out after the refining process has been completed and the result is thinner oil that is present without any kind of fatty acids. The oil that is not present is a colorless and odorless version and there are various processes that are performed in oil mill machinery and with expeller machine to get pure oil to consume.

The process of neutralization of the crude oil done by removing the fatty acids consists of the process where the oil is neutralized in a neutralizer. It is done to remove the fatty acids that are present in the oil and it is done by the process of agitation with the caustic soda. Oil is then heated to a temperature of 60 degree Celsius. It is done with the help of thermo fluid coils and oil that are stirred with the help of a stirrer. By doing this process the fatty acids are then present at the bottom, as the alkali soap is taken out into a soap pan.

The other process that is followed is the process of removing the impurities and the unnatural color. In this process the neutralized oil is then passed through the second container that is called the bleacher. In this bleacher the color of the oil is then removed with the help of the bleaching process. In this various chemicals are used that help in the process of bleaching like carbon black and bleaching clay.

Then the process of removing the unpleasant smell from the oil is done where in the bleached oil a deodorizer is passed through where the thermo fluid coils are given live steam clean and the oil is then used from the top to the bottom of the nozzle. The temperature is then raised to certain level with the help of thermo fluid coils. By all this process the oil is finally refined and is in a condition to be consumed. It is quite important to get the oil refining process done in an oil mill machinery with the help of an expeller machine so that the oil that comes out refined is good to be consumed and used in food.
