Whether it’s an Apple iPad 2 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab there’s more to it than just simply for showing off. The internet now is the world’s largest digital library and anyone can access any information on demand anytime and anywhere in the world. The tablet is a powerful learning tool that if used correctly can help school children gain knowledge and information on the fly.

They can learn all the basic subjects taught in school such as English, Literature, Mathematics, Science, Physics, Chemistry, History, Biology and so much more! And yet all it takes is just a touch of your finger. Take for instance the teacher wants them to write a poem in 20 minutes time, they can just do research on the internet with their tablet about famous poets and their works to get an inspiration, and write a poem of their own or trading synonyms for more profound words or phrases on each line of the poem. They can also research about math problems such as how to convert basic measurements of length, mass, temperature, and time. There are several online conversion tools to be found on the internet.

Getting information quickly is the biggest advantage in using the tablet at school, with the added satisfaction that you have a fancy computer device that’s light and handy. Perhaps the only disadvantage of the tablet is when there’s no internet connection. This is because all tablets use the IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi access. Most schools have a Wi-Fi docking station in their campus; however, the range of the Wi-Fi signal is just probably within the campus perimeter and no further. Sometimes Wi-Fi access experiences downtime and therefore you won’t be able to access it until it gets back up.

Prices will vary depending on the kind of tablet you’ll purchase. They range from $400 to $1000 but they include all relevant features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, huge 16GB – 64GB of disc space, high resolution screen, 512MB – 16GB RAM, special operating system (OS), webcam, 3G and 4G technology and many more. So find better ways to invest your money, getting your kids a computer tablet will both be a memorable gift as well as a very useful tool in learning. Truly the generation that will come after ours will be an entirely different kind and with a mobile device that’s great for communication and excellent in accessing information worldwide they will be able to further the development of mankind!
