How to Teach Children the Importance of Recycling
“Reuse. Reduce. Recycle”. The mother earth is facing grave difficulties in the present time due to the pollution caused by the non-biodegradable. The chemical producing industries are causing great harm to the earth’s environment as these produce hazardous gases. Recycling is a great way of preserving earth natural environment. Through this process, we can use the waste to produce more useful items.
We must act fast as the amount of waste we create is increasing all the time. Recycling is useful and important both for the common populace and also for the economy of a nation. The non-renewable resources are being consumed at such a rapid rate that it seems that we may leave nothing for the next generation to come. Recycling along with reducing consumption is our best means to counter the damage we have been doing to the earth for centuries. Understanding the need of recycling, many non-governmental organizations are coming forward to educate the world on the issue of global warming.
Recycling helps us to reduce poisonous emissions into the atmosphere and also to spare the natural resources that we have. The plastic bottles and food packages are creating more waste that are sometime non-biodegradable. To protect our future generation, we need to make them aware of the consequences and importance of protecting the environment. Along with the adults, the children should also be aware of the consequences of natural degradation. When we recycle something, we actually can save lot of money, energy and natural resources. It also saves a lot of space in the land filed. It is a good idea to recycle the garbage for reusing these, rather than throwing the garbage.
The energy saved by recycling also results in less pollution. We can use simple tips in our home to educate our kids about recycling. These are briefly discussed below:-The first is to inculcate in kids the present problem of pollution all over the earth. Tell the kids about how the thresh they throw can contribute to environmental pollution. Parents should influence their kids not to waste their copies or throw paper items, as these can be recycled easily
Kids should be encouraged to throw the waste in the dustbins only, and not in streets sides or drains. In some places there is a system of sorting different items from the waste and then sending them for recycling Parents and school authorities can set up a recycle centre in home or school where kids can throw the waste which can be recycled later. There should be different bins for specific waste products Parents, teachers and kids can also start a community event that focuses on recycling. In such events, children can perform short drama or skit that shows the importance of recycling and the danger of environmental degradation. Kids follow the example of their elders. So throw the proper trash in the appropriate garbage bins for recycling.
