Journalism is the course that categorize in the part of mass communication field. After 12th, the students can pursue the journalism course at degree and diploma levels from any reputed and government afflicted institute or colleges in India. There is procedure of entrance exams with counseling session where each aspirant has to show their best talent and knowledge in the same field. It is a huge field to work upon. There are plenty of career options in the same field which is apart from the elite jobs like being an anchor, production manager, radio Jockey, the hard core journalists etc.

These are a few fields where a person can reach to a good position after a lot of hard work and experience. But at small level with good salary package people can hunt jobs for reporting in their choice of hard or soft news segments. Now the many .com companies are also hiring candidates from journalism backgrounds for the jobs of creative or content writing for their company. Thus if one has completed any specified course in journalism and has good flair in the field, they can get good job opportunities in the media market.

Eligibility for Journalism after 12th

The students who have passed 10+2 with either stream or minimum 55% marks in their final board’s exams are eligible to apply for the bachelor’s degree or diploma courses in Journalism. Student who has successfully cleared their 12th school exams with English as one of the subject in best four can apply for this course. Some universities in metros are considering only marks of 12th school exams according to the merit and offer the seat in their campus. Delhi University carries out Common Entrance Test for Journalism (CETJ) to select eligible candidate for the B.A. degree course in journalism.

How to Prepare for Journalism entrance exam after 12th

At the aptitude levels the candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills. They should have good command over English writing and speaking language. They must be well acknowledged about the basic general knowledge of national and international issues. The reading and writing habits should be well updated for the students who are willing to the work in the same field. The students can also refer various books and internet to get further details in the journalism field.
