The Use of Social Media Metrics and Our Involvement

We might forget to eat but certainly never to tweet. We might miss a date for a status update. We blog while we jog. These are normal scenarios, driven by the human craving to grab attention, which veritably defines our existence in the present times. Consequently, one of the most grueling challenges of human life today is to be heard and to be understood. It is also almost irrefutable that one never ceases to put in the best effort to gratify this basic and common human instinct. And at this point, the Social Media Tools and the Social Media Metrics come into picture which has given immense possibilities for everyone to express and to reach out.

With almost every iota of information trickling down from various search engines like Google and Wikipedia, the exposure has grown manifold and the sources of communication have mushroomed rapidly. Social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, Google Plus, YouTube, LinkedIn, Blogging and many more such innovative and ever increasing social networking sites are now an indispensable component of our daily schedule.

For entrepreneurs though, it really came as a boon. The gamut of their ideas and thoughts, the ambit of their merchandise and products and most importantly the exclusivity of their brand were accessible to all and sundry. With so much of interaction occurring on the virtual world now that all you need is just a click or a post or a tweet away.

Just as a cricket match is followed with a post match analysis we also are always eager to see the number of likes and comments after posting something. Social Media Metrics take care of this human urge as well. The return of the investment is often measured in terms of the discussions it generates and the engagement it embarks.

So, there is a perpetual stir created by the Social Media Tools which the Media Metrics monitor.
