There have been incidents of thefts, burglaries and ransacking since the dawn of civilizations, ranging from petty to magnanimous loots. If there is a witness present thieves always try to maim or kill them in the most horrendous ways ever thought of. But thanks to present day technology, these incidents if not completely wiped out, have reduced noticeably. Surveillance gadgets have instilled a feeling of fear in the minds of thieves and criminals. If they do break-in, they can be efficiently caught. Here’s where surveillance cameras come into play. Surveillance cameras are devices that observe movement in any area. The video can be recorded as footage. It can also be transferred through the Internet, or a CCTV. Surveillance cameras come with inexpensive and fool proof technology that can be used in houses for surveillance. Advanced home security services like ADT Alarm System delivers professional surveillance services these days in home security market.

Because camera security is used to observe, investigate, and prevent crime incidents like aggravating burglaries it is important to install cameras in the right places. To install cameras in the right places all you need is little bit of logic and common sense. Even so there are some locations that you just might miss. Here are the best places where you can hide your surveillance camera for better security and footage recording:

If you’re installing spy cameras in a multistoried office, it’s best to install cameras along with motion detectors in every landing of the stair. Installing cameras in the elevators is a must. If your office space has parallel bays where employees are seated, install cameras that can rotate on a greater axis between alternate bays or less. It is in the best interest of the company to respect an employee’s privacy, don’t get too paranoid and over exaggerate the security. Have a camera installed in entrances, exits and in the lobby that can keep an account of the people who’ve entered and left the building. Don’t ignore your store rooms or rooms where people frequent less, these are the prime crime locations. Install cameras in the action areas say for example, customer transaction points. Don’t install them directly above the ceiling; leave at least a three foot gap away from it. This way you can make out the faces and not just the hair.

In homes, again cameras are to be placed in the entrances and exits. If your house is multistoried, place cameras in the stairs. In the front yards or the backyards place the cameras in trees or bushes. It’s also better to mount a camera in the tree that monitors the sandbar or the children’s play area. In dining areas place the camera on top of the fire place or on the paintings. If there’s a chandelier you can install a wireless surveillance camera there. Just make sure that it is not hung high up in the ceilings. You don’t necessarily have to place cameras in the bedroom if you feel your privacy gets disrupted. Instead you can shift all your valuables to a place that can be monitored easily. In your children’s bedroom you can hide the cameras in the toys etc. In fact there are toys these days that come in built with a spy camera. Don’t ever install cameras in the bathrooms, you never know who can get hold of the footage. Instead you can observe who exists and enters the bathroom, by handing a poster on cleanliness or something relevant on the bathroom door and placing the camera behind it. In the living room, you can hide cameras in floor vases, paintings or in showcases. In the kitchen, hide the camera in counter corners, inside the cupboards and behind plates and cups.
