Twin Water Softener Michigan

Water Systems is a retailer of single and twin water softeners in Michigan, but sometimes people need more information to know whether they need a water softener at all. If consumers do not know what “hard” or “soft” water really means, talking about water softening systems becomes futile.

Water that needs to be softened is called, intuitively, "hard" water. This means that the hard water contains a significant amount of calcium, magnesium, or other minerals. Groundwater acquires these metals by picking them up from surrounding soil and rock. The water services and scientists measure water hardness in terms of grains per gallon (GPG) or milligrams per liter (mg/L). If your water tests at 1 GPG (17.1 mg/L) or less, then you have soft water. Water around 1-3.5 GPG (17.1-60 mg/L) hovers in an ambiguous zone between soft and slightly hard water, and 3.5-7 GPG (60-120 mg/L) is deemed moderately hard. Water that definitely qualifies as hard falls into the category around 7-10.5 GPG (120 - 180 mg/L), and there is even a very hard water category sitting above that [source: Water Quality Association

So, you will want a water softener if your hard water supply becomes a nuisance in your home. Health risks are not significant, but mineral buildup on fixtures and poor soap and/or detergent performance might drive homeowners or consumers to seek purification of their water, to remove some of those minerals that clog plumbing or even alter the taste of drinking water.

Other reasons you may opt to install a water softener include the filmy residue that is often left behind on the skin in bathing with hard water. In laundering, clothes washed with hard water often look dingier and less vibrant. They may not hold up as well because the minerals will give slight wear on them. In dishwashers, hard water may cause spotting and, again, a filmy residue on dishes and utensils. This isn’t necessarily an indication that the dishes are dirty, but it may look unappealing. In boiler systems and pipe work, hard water contributes to lime scale buildup, and that can affect the flow of water through your plumbing system, as well as increase the price of your water bill by up to 25%.

All of these issues are indicators for why you may choose to install a water softener, be it a twin water softener or a single softener, from Ayers in Michigan, or from anywhere else. - About Author:
