Relevance of Janitorial Services in Today’s World
Are you having problems in cleaning your office building? Are you running a school and hence facing difficulty in maintaining it? Don’t get tensed as you can save a lot of money by taking commercial janitorial services into consideration. The janitorial services are executed by some people including women professionals and they are called janitors. These people keep the buildings clean and tidy. Such buildings include offices, schools, business houses, hotels, restaurants, hospitals and many more.
These employees need to undergo special training before they start their profession. Some training classes are provided to them by government agencies and there is a particular work environment for these special services.
According to US International Standards, in 2006-07 janitors held around 2.5 million jobs that are around 56 % of janitorial cleaning services. Around 20% of employees work for schools and colleges.
What types of services are rendered?
Commercial janitorial services involve duties like cleaning bathrooms and floors of large buildings, cleaning doors and windows, shampooing rugs, dusting furniture and cleaning the walls of buildings. However small tasks are also carried out like painting, fixing any leakage, replenishment of bathroom supplies and killing insects and pests.
When are the services executed?
Most of the commercial janitorial services are carried out in the evenings when the buildings get closed after the whole day work. However schools and hospitals are cleaned during working hours only. A full time employee works for around 40 hours each week, while one doing a part time job works for some hours during evening time and on weekends.
These cleaning jobs need no special education. It is important to be a skilled worker for this profession. They might need to work overtime and they also need to do further tasks like repairing and maintenance work.
A proper training is required
Janitorial services require proper training. There are some agencies of the government or some employers who teach janitorial services. A professional needs to undergo the programs conducted by these unions and agencies. During their course they need to learn the safety guidelines, they are informed about cleaning equipments and how they should execute their work.
Benefits of these services
These services are very beneficial as they can save a lot of time and energy. If you want to apply these services for your office building, a lot of expenses are saved as you need not purchase any cleaning equipments. However, you should hire a licensed agency or an individual in order to claim any loss or damage of your property.
