Whether it is a home or a commercial kitchen, a cooker is something that most cooks will find essential. It is quite the versatile cooking utensil and one that can help you put on several dishes at one time. Having something like this is great for a working mother or for a home where a lot of people have to be cooked for and fast. When cookers first came into existence, they were quite the simple cooking aid. With time they have come to be more complicated and have a great deal of technology incorporated into them. Therefore, maintaining them the right way is essential. Also knowing all the parts that make up the cooker is necessary so that you know what needs replacement and by when.

A cooker is made up of several components, some of them are plastic and others are made of metal. When you are looking for a replacement, you have to look for one that is a perfect match with your cooker. These can range from anything – electrical switches to metallic components. Cookers, especially those available in western countries are of two basic varieties. While one runs on gas, the other is an electric cooker. Which one you prefer is a matter of convenience. In the case of gas versions you will be able to control the amount of heat that passes through them. For every brand that comes out with a cooker, the parts are uniquely manufactured and therefore all replacements will have to be bought from an authorized dealer of the same.

One of the main parts that suffer through a great deal of wearing down is the selector switch. It is necessary that you constantly keep an eye on it as this is what will regulate the heat your cooker gives out as well as the functioning of it. As soon as you spot a crack in the switch, make sure that you change it. This is also applicable if you are unable to have a grip on it. The next part to keep an eye on is grill pans. Since these are constantly taken out of the cookers, they can get damaged. Getting yourself a replacement that comes with a wooden handle will help you manage it better.

The simmerstats are what will help you regulate the amount of heat the cooker gives off. This is especially if you some heavy duty cooking happening. Always get a professional to come and take a look at it from time to time.
