When it comes to making your home appear extravagant and sophisticated, marble is one of the greatest materials to use. Before marble is employed for construction, it is first harvested and sliced from pieces of stones that originate from mountains. As a tile, it can be utilized virtually everywhere in your house, especially your walls, your kitchen area, or even your shower area.

In the course of history, marble floors and walls have been considered indications of high-class and affluence. Monarchs have ordered workers and architects to adorn their palaces with marble, a couple of whom have produced some of the world’s most unique art pieces. A renowned example is the Taj Mahal located in Agra, India. The Taj Mahal was developed by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a manifestation of honor and love for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Until now, it stands and is regarded as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A lot of people use marble because of its beauty and its supposed ease of maintenance and cleaning. Italian Calacatta marble tiles are notably very easy to clean. It also doesn’t expand when exposed to moisture, making it a favorite option for showers and bathrooms.

Marble tiles are at risk of having its surface finish scratched and tarnished when used as flooring material. However, that can often be remedied by using available cleaning products from your local home improvement or appliance store. Just thoroughly clean the marble using warm water and mild detergent or even dish soap with a soft sponge to remove dirt and spots without scratching it. Let the surface to dry before taking the next step.

Right after it dries, shine the top of the Calacatta gold marble tile with a sufficient quantity of marble-refinishing or buffing solution on a buffing pad. Use plenty of water to lubricate it better. Use a grinder on each tile to eliminate any contaminants that scratches on the surface, moving it in circular motions to shine the surface consistently while applying water if needed.

The next step is to eliminate any excessive buffing solution using water and wipe the tiles dry. Utilize a soft brush and sealer coat to close up the tiles after finishing. Apply if necessary on any marble chair rail as well.

With correct and regular servicing, your marble tiles can retain its natural finish, and you won’t have to locate new marble tiles for sale to exchange them anytime soon. You can read more about marble tiles at About.com and eHow.com.
