The fake lawns, created for sports activities, have many advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages are that it requires less maintenance, does not need sunshine, provides good visual treat. It is mainly used in places where the environment is not friendly to natural grass. Natural grass requires sunshine, air, light and water without which they cannot grow. The temperature condition should be optimum, as natural grass cannot grow in too cold or too hot conditions. Under such conditions, it is more convenient to use fake lawn. It can withstand rough use and gives longer life. This is an advantage over the natural grass. The fake lawn grass is more suitable for terrace garden and for places around swimming pool. The latest invention in the field of fake lawn is the invention and introduction of Polytan Liga Turf, which helps in keeping the temperature of the lawn under control. This is very helpful for the courts situated at places with extremes temperature. In some artificial lawns, silicon sand may be required to be used as infill or even granulated rubber may be used for this purpose. Granulated rubber is manufactured from recycled tires, which may not be very good for the environment. Since the material used is artificial, they may require cleaning and disinfection frequently. In very rare cases, it may induce allergic reactions among some people.

In the coming days, the disadvantages of the fake lawn grass may be minimized by new inventions. Then fake lawn grass becomes more popular and it can be used much more.
