Five Benefits of Home Window Tinting

By Film Tinting Subscribe to RSS | December 21st 2011 | Views:

Most people are familiar with car windows being tinted, but not so many think about the benefits of home window tinting. Yet a solar tinting film over the windows your home makes a great deal of sense and provides benefits that you may not have considered. Here are just a few.

For a start window tinting can save you money in the costs of cooling and heating your home. Tinting actually provides insulation so that there is less heat transferred through the windows. In the summer, this means that less heat enters during the day when the cost of electricity is at its peak due to prime usage. And of course, less cool air from your air-conditioning escapes through the windows. So your power bill will be reduced. And in the winter the heat generated in your home will not escape as easily through the windows if they are tinted.

You are actually using ‘green’ technology to help save the planet. Window tinting means you use less power, which means that your carbon footprint is reduced.

Window tinting also reduces the glare that comes in through larger windows. While the view is great, often you cannot really appreciate it due to the glare. But when you have your windows tinted it’s like looking at the same view with your sunnies on. Glare reduced means view enhanced. And when the glare is reduced it becomes easier to use the computer or watch TV without having to draw the curtains to cut back on the glare.

Privacy is another benefit of window tinting. It is much harder for people on the outside to see in through your windows when they are tinted. This means you don’t have to pull the curtains or blinds quite so much and shut out your view or light.

Some tinting provides added safety as it prevents broken windows from shattering into pieces that can be really dangerous.
