Design a Bathroom in a Few Simple Steps
Whether you’re building a new home or renovating an existing one, the bathroom can be beautiful with the right design ideas and floor tiles. It’s not just about colour; it is about fittings, fixtures, flooring and light.
A bathroom is often a sanctuary, somewhere you can go and have a relaxing bath by candlelight; let the perfumed candles and bubble bath relaxes you in a beautiful setting after a long hard day at work. Well that’s what a bathroom is when I think about it. Often we prefer a shower, which is quick, easy and takes no time at all, so we can get on with our schedule.
Bath or Shower
Depending on the size of your bathroom, you can decide whether to choose a bath, shower or both. Small compact bathrooms definitely benefit from showers, giving you loads of extra floor space so it’s not difficult to move around.
There are some fantastic showers on the market, you can get corner units, walk in showers or even round ones, so you can see what will fit into your bathroom easily and take it from there. The same applies to the enclosures; you have sliding doors or clip doors, each keeping the water in and reducing the risk of flooding.
If you have room there is nothing better than a beautiful bath in the bathroom, these days freestanding baths offers style and sophistication to any bathroom. They look so grand and they offer a deep comfortable place to lie back and relax.
Most families struggle with everyone enjoying different aspects, some family members may wish to shower while others want to bath, if you have the space you can incorporate both into your bathroom easily, but there is always a good power shower over the bath, which will keep everyone happy.
It’s not only about finding cheap floor tiles; it’s finding the right taps and shower heads that can add to the beauty of the bathroom. There are such amazing taps and fittings for bathrooms to choose from, make sure the ones you choose match the décor and design. You don’t want old fashioned taps in an ultra-modern bathroom; you don’t want modern fittings in an old bathroom either. Try and keep the fittings to match the décor, making your bathroom the sanctuary you deserve.
Most homes choose traditional white for bathrooms, this adds to the light of the room. If you have a window, you can enjoy natural light and add a splash of colour to the décor. You don’t have to do all the walls, you can do predominantly white with one wall in a pale blue or green to add to the ambience of your bathroom.
