Watching TV and Exercising - a Fun Way to Do Workouts and Melt Your Fat

For a majority of the people, doing exercises is probably one of the most boring activities. Lifting those heavy weights or breaking the sweat is not something that most of us like. However, there is something that you probably didn’t think of all these days to make your workout routine one of the most exciting activities at home. On a serious note, studies have shown that there is a massive increase in the number of obese people all over the world. The accumulation of excess fat in the body may happen due to a slew reasons such as poor eating habits, irregular sleeping pattern, or hereditary factors.

So, there is a strong urge on the people to go for various weight loss measures to stay slim, fit, and healthy. Personally, I believe it is mandatory that every house should have an exercising equipment; at least one if not many. All right friends! Let me now tell you how exercise is going to be one of the simplest and interesting activities for you. It’s pretty simple. We all love watching TV, don’t we? So why not try combining our favorite activity that is, TV viewing with something that is very important but ignored to a large extent. There are several ways of watching TV and doing your workouts. The ultimate purpose of such a move is to make you forget the pain of the physical activity by enjoying the popular TV shows. The first thing I would like to mention here is that you may fidget a bit while enjoying your favorite TV programs. Studies have shown that this activity can help reduce up to 300 calories per day as the body is in constant motion.

Another thing you can do is shifting your exercise equipment a bit closer to your television set. Take about the dust-covered treadmills from the corner of your living room and clean it and place it right in front of your TV. By doing so, you can start jogging on your equipment while you are enjoying your favorite TV program. For this purpose, I would suggest it is good to watch health and fitness programs on any of the popular services such as the Verizon FiOS TV while you are engaged in a physical activity like jogging or running on the treadmill. The fitness shows help to pep up your motivation levels and kind of act as a supporting factor to push you for some extra mileage.

And make sure that you are not doing the same exercise all the time. Just try taking a few pushups while the TV commercials are on. Even if you are not the kind of person who likes to do pushups you can still rejoice that you are going to be doing it only for a few minutes that is until the commercial gets over. So this is one good way of doing different workouts without getting bored while watching TV.

You may try and vary your workouts according to the TV program that you are watching. For instance, if you are watching a dance show, then you may also enjoy the songs and dance to the peppy music just like the stars on the show. And if you watching a boxing or wrestling matches, then you may try to give more punches to your boxing bag. This is one good way to diversify your workouts. Thus exercising and watching TV is going to be enjoyable and the end result- losing a few extra pounds at the end of the month is also going to be beneficial for your body and mind.
