For many people with bone cancer, the cancer can be destroyed or removed by the treatment. The completion of treatment can be very exciting as well as stressful. The fears of the people may take some time for lessening. However, the cancer survivors can surely live with this uncertainty. Cancer may not be destroyed completely. However, regular treatments can be obtained with radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Living with cancer can be very stressful and difficult. Given below are the things that must be done after the treatment of cancer:

# Follow up care

After the treatment is over, the doctor will still want to watch the patient closely. It is important that one should go for the follow-up appointments. During these visits, questions will be asked by the doctors regarding any problems that are experienced. Lab tests and scans may also be done for looking noticing the signs and symptoms of cancer. There are many side effects of cancer treatment. Some of these treatments last for a few weeks, while some last for months. Some can last throughout their lives. This is the time, when a patient must speak to the cancer care team about the problems or changes that are noticed. If extensive bone surgery is performed, physical therapy and rehabilitation proves to be an integral part of helping a person in regaining the independence and mobility. Keeping a health insurance is very essential for a person. A lot of cost is involved in the doctor visits and tests.

# Seeing a new doctor

At some point of time after the cancer treatment and diagnosis, a patient may find himself seeing a new doctor. This doctor may not be aware of the medical history. It is important that all the details must be given to the new doctor about the diagnosis and treatment. One must ensure that the information should come handy:

1. A copy of the surgeries or biopsies.

2. If a person has had his surgery, he must carry a copy of the operative report.

3. If a person has had a radiation, a copy of treatment summary is very necessary.

4. If a person is in the hospital, he must carry a copy of the discharge summary that is prepared when the patients are sent home.

5. If a person has had a chemotherapy, a list of drug doses and drugs must be carried.

6. A copy of the imaging studies and x-rays must also be carried.
