Ellanse Dermal Filler - Add Volume to Skin

Dermal fillers are most often used to correct wrinkles and depressions in the face, including scarring, although they are also used to add volume to the cheeks and lips. Fillers plump up the lips or cheeks, and correct typical signs of aging such as sunken cheeks, while adding volume, which is generally associated with youth, to the face. Now that there are so many dermal fillers on the market, patients can decide together which they feel will be the most suitable to correct their particular issues. The ultimate aim of all dermal fillers is to add volume to the face in areas where volume has been lost, to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles and give patients a natural, yet young and fresh appearance.

Ellanse is an exciting new addition to the family of dermal fillers currently available at leading clinics on Harley Street in London. Ellanse filler is currently the only dermal filler available which acts as a bio-stimulator of collagen, and has results which last from 2 – 3 years, whereas other dermal fillers on the market are broken down and absorbed by the body within a matter of months. Ellanse is a relatively recent addition to the dermal fillers available in the UK, and was brought over from Holland by leading Harley Street Surgeons in 2010, Ellanse fillers’ effectiveness and popularity have quickly won Ellanse much recognition within the cosmetic surgery world, and Ellanse filler won the dermal filler of the year award in 2011. Ellanse is different from other hyaluronic acid fillers which work by volumising, whereas Ellanse dermal fillers work by stimulating the skin’s own collagen production and improving the skin’s natural elasticity.

Patients undergoing treatment using Ellanse, or indeed any dermal filler must carefully select an experienced Ellanse practitioner, and go to a consultation in which the surgeon can help to decide whether or not Ellanse is the right course of action for the individual patient. Prior to Ellanse being injected, a topical anaesthetic will used to numb the face, ensuring that the patient will feel very little pain. The local anaesthetic means that patients usually feel very little pain while Ellanse dermal filler is being administered via injection. After the treatment, patients are able to continue their daily business, however, they do need to be aware that there will be some swelling and bruising treatment, as there is with all treatments using dermal fillers. The swelling disappear within a few days, and patients are advised to take arnica tablets orally to help prevent bruising.
