The Birth control pill also known is a fantastic method of contraception. It is the most commonly used contraception throughout the world today, mainly due to the ease of use and it’s well known effectiveness against pregnancy. Many other methods of contraception can become unreliable after time or are basically ineffective in some cases.
The way in which the birth control pill works is that it contains hormones which enable the body to change and will effectively prevent you from becoming pregnant. The Hormones are a chemical substance, which control how the body’s everyday organs will function. In the case of the Birth control pill these hormones will effectively control the functions of the Uterus and your ovaries.
If you have decided to engage in the birth control pill cycle, then the standard dosage for most users will be one pill per day. It is important that you take the pill at about the same time each day to be sure you are gaining the maximum potential from the contraceptive method.
Common Side Effects
Although the pill is a very effective form of contraception there will unfortunately be some minor side effects if used for a prolonged amount of time. Not everybody who used the pill, will receive side effects, in fact the most common outcome is that many users, receive no side effects.
For the Unfortunate amount that does see side effects, do not worry, they are only very minor effects and do not intrude on the Birth control pills effectiveness.
* Breast Tenderness and enlargement can be a side effect of the birth control pill; this is just due to the additional hormones working within your body. If you are out into this position do not worry, as this side effect will soon heal itself in time.
* Headaches are a common side effect of taking the pill; again this could be down new chemicals present in your body. Once your body has adjusted, your headaches will be no more.
* Nausea and vomiting is a rare side effect from taking the pill, however sometimes this will occur. Again the illness will pass and is caused by the changes in your own hormonal cycle.
* You may notice a change in your sex drive; typically your sex drive will decrease when you begin your cycle.
It has been mentioned that the Birth control pill will make the women who use it put on weight. This is not the case as many studies and test have been conducted to see if this was true. To this day there has been no research that suggests that this is indeed the case.
