A hospital-acquired infection also known as HAIs for short, or even as nosocomial infections, is a disease that is passed around because of the medical treatment facilities from one patient to other. These Hospital Acquired Infection is quite dangerous as patients may already have a weakened immune system. As a result, some patients may encounter significant difficulty while they are trying to recover from their original sickness as well as these new infections.

Reason for hospital acquired infection:-

There are various ways in which these infections can be passed from one patient to other. And all the reasons are related to a lack of enforced sterilization practices. The major reason for this disease to occur is that the doctors or the other hospital staff becomes negligent in handling the patients. This occurs when the hospital has not established the required norms and requirements like establishing sanitation protocol.

The other causes that lead to such infections are listed below:

=> If they face a failure while sterilizing the equipment

=> If they fail to wash their hands and arms while moving from patient to patient and observing them during their daily check-ups, or even before entering an operation room

=> If they don't follow the norms that say a mandatory requirement is needed of wearing a uniform when working with patients

=> When the hospital faces lack of sanitary protocol

=> If the hospital staff does not take care to clean an operating room before another patient is admitted into it

=> Failure to adequately isolate patients from one another

=> If the hospital members fail to wear a sterile mask when necessary

All the above mentioned factors are the various reasons for transferring these infections from one person to another. Therefore, if you become a victim of this infection, then you really need to take a legal action against the physician or facility that is at fault.

Types of HAIs:-

The different types of HAIs are mentioned below:

=> Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

=> Birth infections ( that is seen in both - mother and child)

=> Infections that occur if you have undergone a surgery

=> E. coli infections

=> Respiratory infections - most commonly, pneumonia

=> Staph infections

Thus, the treatment must be given as per the state in which the patient was before developing the HAI.
