Educated patients who have the idea of the outcome of tummy tuck surgery are the best one among all. There are lots of benefits of tummy tuck surgery but at the same time, there are some risks involved in tummy tuck as well. We are going to discuss some of these risks in this article.

Anesthesia bad reaction: All the abdominoplasty surgeries use general anesthesia which is much more risky than local anesthesia. There may be some problems arising because of this anesthesia and it is best to consult an expert for these issues.

Development of blood clots: Blood clots are the reaction of our body to any kind of injury but these can be really dangerous on certain locations of our body. Sometimes even blood circulation may be hindered because of a blood clot developed inside the blood vessel of the patient. It may even lead to deadly results if the blood clot travels up to the heart or brain.

Resulting Infections: Generally, the patients undergoing tummy tuck surgery have an increased risk of suffering from infection. Any carelessness in taking care of the surgical wound may develop into an infection. Patient receives some specific instructions from the doctor regarding change of bandages, exposure of wound to water, and proper cleaning of the wound. Some common signs of infection include sweating, fever, pus near the incision area, extra amount of drainage fluid etc.

Slow speed of healing: The speed of healing differs from patient to patient. Young individuals recover quickly from any surgery including tummy tuck. Generally, the issues associated with surgery including pain, discomfort and swelling exist until six weeks of the infection but this period is extended in case of individual with slow healing.
