Got hair troubles every damn day of school? It’s particularly difficult for girls who don’t know what to do with their hair. Should I stick with the same boring hairstyle or should I try a new look? Will the new look stay till the end of the day? One best way to deal with thick, unruly, disobedient hair is to braid them. Braids are fun, convenient and easy to make once you learn how. Braids are especially good, for managing frizzy wild hair that simply won’t stay put. And you don’t have to try harmful, toxic frizz-controls. Don’t worry there are different interesting and new braiding styles. Besides, it keeps the hair out of the face. Your temperamental nature will be considerably reduced!

Apart from keeping the hair fly into your face braiding has lots of other benefits. If you have extremely damaged hair, braiding is the way to go. Damaged hair is uneven, brittle and has a lot of split ends. Braiding helps you to collect all that hair in one place and make it stay. Intricately braided hair gives off a professional look. It goes well with any type of clothing be it a summer dress or short trousers. Braiding your hair before you go to sleep will keep you steer clear of any troublesome knots in the morning after you wake up and lesser are the chances of getting plagued by a bad hair day. Not to mention, once you start braiding your hair regularly, you will start noticing subtle waves in your hair. They appear natural and don’t require a hot curler or other destructive tools. Best thing about braided hair is it stays till the end of the day, no need to re-arrange it.

Learning to braid your hair can be pretty strenuous. But that’s only in the beginning. Experienced hair braiders can do multiple, intricate plaits effortlessly. I recently found this interesting video on my laptop connected to Xfinity that teaches the different styles of hair braiding. Now I wear my hair in braids to school every day. Here are some of the styles that I picked up.

Straight braids: The simplest braid style worn, with one or two plaits and can be coiled or twisted to appear more beautiful. It’s made from three equal strands or locks of hair.

Corn rows: A series of geometric rows of plaits situated tightly on the head, or more complicated and intricate plaited designs, that can be left for a long time. This depicts African culture.

Cane rows: A neater less complicated version of corn rows, with less number of plaits. They are now known as micro braids and are becoming immensely popular in the hip-hop culture.

French braids: A French braid follows a simple three strand technique except that it begins with a small section of hair up on the head and includes all the left out hairs while progressing down. When you French plait, your hair will never disobey.

Dutch braids: Dutch braids are similar to French braids. They follow the same technique as French braids, the only difference being that while the French start at the top and proceed to the centre, the Dutch start from the centre and head down. This plait is to be worn on top of the hair.

Combo braid: When two braids are joined and braided together, the style is called a combo braid. When two braided strands are pinned together, the resulting style is called a rose stem if one end is pinned and a classic if both ends are pinned.

The above styles use mainly three strands of hair, they are easy to use and can be practiced individually. There are other braids that use double strands or multiple strands that require a lot of practice, but when mastered, produce stunning results. Whoever you go out with a nicely braided hair for some short or long vacations, please remember to give proper protection to your house. Home alarms from companies like ADT Security Systems are available in market; your only job is to select one and use it.
