Imposing Decisions on Children Does Not Always Give a Fruitful Result

The bond between parents and children are extra-ordinary and cannot be measured at any cost. Every relation can fade up some day but this relation cannot. When children get into any kind of trouble, the first face that they remember is of their parents. In fact, it is only parents who understand their children from the core. Like everything else the guidelines from parents to their kids are necessary because it provides them with the idea to tackle with any awkward situation. These guiding principles are mostly based on the developmental stages of the kids.

When parents say something to the children, we expect that it must be of something valuable. Does it mean that parents should impose all their decision to their kids? One, who does that, makes the mistake. Parents should remember that their children are also human beings, and no human being likes to be ruled by anybody. It is a human nature to be free from all the bondages and do all the work freely. When parents try to compel their children to do what they say, their children start avoiding them and that is the situation when the gap between the parents and children starts widening up.

Children need parental support. Instead of that, when they get pressure from their parents to listen to their every word, children find themselves in mid of the ocean. For example, after completing class Xth, Satish’s parents wanted him to go for Science, while he wanted to join Arts. Since his parents were forcing him, he could not say much on that regard and joined in Science stream. He did not do a healthy result in his class XIth examination but his parents did not lose their hope on him. Poor Satish could not make it up in the finals of XIIth boards and he flunked in Physics.

Satish got scolding from his parents but somehow he convinced them and joined Arts. It was shocking for everybody when the same student passed with colorful marks and the most amazing part was that he scored highest in four subjects in his state. This was a small example of Satish, but like him there are many children who fail to say exactly what they want to do and finally end up making mistakes in their life. When they and their parents realize, most of the times they become late to correct the mistake.

Parents should be friend to their children, rather than being only friends. Once you become their friends, you will be able to know what they are planning in their life and also can take all the vital decisions together. In fact, sometimes children also take matured decisions which many times have been proved to be wise.
